John and I were great friends from grammar school (Glenview) and jr high (McChesney) and part of high school until I moved to Pebble Beach. We camped out in his backyard, and mine, used to ride our bikes all over Oakland, and remember his great mom and dad and he even liked his sisters. John brings great memories back to me, and may he rest in peace. Hope his family is doing well. He will be missed by many I'm sure.
John and I were good buddies our whole lives. Like many friendships there were times we did not see each other for months or even years. Then John came to work for the Oakland Fire dept. about 2 years after I did. We rekindled a great friendship. Fishing camping and horsing around just like when we were little. We worked on opposite shifts but for many years in the same firehouse. I miss you pal. Bud Abbott :)
