Invitations Mailed, and a Marriott Update

We have sent out invitations to our reunion, including response forms. We went old school, using snail mail, to make sure we reach every class member possible. Due to the overwhelming response reservations must be received by August 1.

High-tech types who somehow failed to get the invite in the mail can go to "Your Invitation" on the left panel, print it out and return it. 

Click on “Attending OHS 50 year Reunion” on classmate page to see who will be attending the reunion.  The number shown represents only our classmates attending (does not include guests).  Sending your payment gets you on the list.

To secure a reservation, get your response forms and checks back to us ASAP.  If you need a hotel room, make your reservation now as our special $89 rate is almost sold out. (See phone number below.) Remember, you can cancel up to the day before.

Don't forget to check our UPDATED REUNION SURVEY. Until we get your responses to the invitations, this is our best way of knowing who's interested, and how you feel about activities surrounding the reunion dinner.

Even if you do not plan on attending the reunion dinner, we'd appreciate your answering the survey.

$100 per person, including hors d'oeuvre, salad, a dual-entree (salmon and chicken) dinner, sides, dessert and two drinks. Also, a short program, and dancing to the sounds of our high school years.

Besides the dinner, we are offering several activities:

Friday, Oct.5: A mid-morning tour of the Oakland High campus. Immediately after the tours, optional lunch--or optional ice cream--at Fentons on Piedmont Avenue.

Friday, 4 - 7 pm: Happy Hour(s), a social mixer at Scott's near the Marriott. Optional dinner and, of course, optional ice cream!

Sunday morning: A no-host breakfast gathering for those who stay at the Marriott.

LATEST HOTEL INFO: We have a special discount rate of $89 at the Marriott. But on April 19, we learned that those rooms are almost sold out. To ensure your discount, call 1-888-236-2427 ASAP. When those rooms sell out, the rates will increase.  When you call, use the code "OAK-OAKA," or say you're part of the reunion.

Also, the Motel 6 is very close by, and they may have rooms as low as $75. 1-800-466-8356.

Note: Yes, $100 for the gala dinner sounds high, but it's in line with other reunions, it allows us to have the event at a top-notch location with a sit-down dinner (no standing in lines for buffets), and it helps us cover the many expenses of producing this once-in-a-lifetime event. Any profits go into the reunion. We are accepting contributions to help defray production costs, to allow us to offer complimentary admissions to several faculty members we have located, and to purchase a special gift for Oakland High School.

This site is free (for you) and is designed just for the Class of '62. Here, you can connect with classmates and take trips (watch it!) down memory lane. To sign up, just find yourself in "Classmate Profiles," update the info, and you are in.
