Bonnie Bunn (Rice)

Bonnie Rice, 68, a long time resident of Watsonville, went to heaven Friday, May 2, 2014. She was born June 23, 1945 and grew up in Oakland. Bonnie was a devoted elementary school teacher and taught for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District.

Bonnie was a beloved member in Twin Lakes Church and was very active in her community. She was a member of the Corralitos Women’s Club, volunteered at the Corralitos library, and was part of the knitting group Knit Wits and Bible Study Fellowship. She loved to swim and read. She was an avid traveler and traveled the world. She was able to fulfill her wish to visit all seven continents.

Bonnie died at home surrounded by her family and close friends. She is survived by her children: Stephanie Larsen, Roddy Larsen (Stephanie) and Andrew Larsen (Jennifer), eight grand children and sister Patty Jarratt.

The Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held May 15, at 1:00 P.M at Twin Lakes Church, Aptos with a reception afterward. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you make a donation to “2020 Vision” at Twin Lakes Church.

Sincere condolences to our classmate, Russel Larsen, their 3 children, 8  grandchildren, family and friends.

Bonnie was a sweet soul; she had an infectious smile and she was a great swimmer. I remember being in sychronized swimming with her. She had an amazing talent. It was fun doing the shows with her and the other gals. We didn't have much contact after high school because we all had such busy lives. We had a great class and there were many special thoughts about those wonderful carefree years. I am sure Bonnie was a wonderful teacher and all her students loved her.

I also share a passion of travel. What a blessing that Bonnie was able to see so much of the world before God took her to her final travel destination.

I also remember the fun we had at the 30 year reunion and having breakfast the next day simply remembering and laughing about those special times. I was hoping Bonnie, had been at the 50th for more fun, laughter and remembering.

Rest in Peace sweet, Bonnie, we will miss you.

My heart and prayers go out to Bonnie's family especially her children and grandchildren. Just know that she is now with God, her maker; happy and at peace.

Love and Blessings to you all,

Janet
